Surrendering a DogOur foster space is limited and we are a no-kill organization, so unfortunately Measle's Animal Haven, Inc. is not able to accept every animal needing a home. Our organization's funds are earned through fundraisers, grants, donations, and adoption fees. If you need to surrender a pit bull or senior dog (whether it is yours or a stray you have found), and we have space in a foster home to be able to accept the dog, he or she must pass a temperament test administered by a Measle's Animal Haven representative. If the dog does not pass the temperament test, we will not be able to accept the dog. Due to the nature of our donation-based funding, Measle's Animal Haven may require a monetary donation at the time the relinquished dog is turned over to our rescue program. This monetary donation will be discussed with you by a Measle's Animal Haven representative. Any monetary donation is used to cover the costs related to the care of the relinquished dog (for example, veterinary care). Please note that if Measle's Animal Haven is full, your name will be placed on a waiting list for the dog to be taken into rescue, should your dog be deemed acceptable for rescue placement. Alternatively, we may be able to place the dog for adoption on our website and screen applicants if the dog is spayed/neutered and you can act as its foster home.
