Give the gift of life...become a foster parent!

Measle's Animal Haven Pit Bull Rescue and Shelter is exclusively a foster-based organization. We do not have a shelter or a boarding facility, so every dog we take in must have a foster home. As you can imagine, this makes foster parents vital to our mission. Without fosters families, we are unable to help any of the dogs that need us to save their lives.

Foster parents provide homes for rescued dogs prior to adoption. While a rescued dog is in foster care, the foster family cares for the dog as if they are the dog's owner. Therefore, it is critical that we match the dog to the foster parent’s capabilities, energy level, other pets, and other factors. We thoroughly discuss these factors with the foster parents and provide guidance along the way.

Your love, affection, exercise, daily care, socialization, and basic training will help prepare the dog you foster for a successful transition into a forever home, and you will have truly saved a life.

We provide all veterinary care for the dogs in our program. In addition, we provide a collar, leash, tags, and a crate. When possible, we ask that the foster home provide food, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention.

Please consider opening your home to a pit bull or senior dog in is one of the most rewarding and generous things you can do to help these wonderful dogs.

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please copy our adoption application (below), paste it into an email, fill it out, and email it to us.

NOTE: We are all volunteers, so it may take up to a week to process your application.
